MY STORY

Fred Swarr, a resident of The Warwick Woodlands in Lititz, PA, has been an active painter since 1969. He has a Master’s degree in Art Education and has over the years produced artwork of many different styles. His current method of painting, staining, and texturing over collage printed images with acrylic paint on a stretched canvas is a two dimensional mixed media creation. His portraits are created after researching photos and paintings of people throughout history that inspire him through their accomplishments. Fred’s inspiration for these paintings also comes from his inherent interest in their facial expressions that shows their true character. He does these collage type paintings with time-consuming detail as a way of bringing his interpretation of famous people to art. Fred exhibits his paintings in various art galleries, art associations, theaters, restaurants, permanent collections of universities, churches, businesses and private individuals. He also donates his artwork to nonprofit organizations for fundraising.
